Knee and Ankle Pain Treatment Sydney CBD

Knee and ankle problems are mostly about how the whole leg absorbs load. We assess from the foot up, treat the calf, hamstring and quad tissue that is overworking, and build the strength and balance that let you run, train and walk stairs without pain.

How we treat knee and ankle pain

The assessment looks at foot posture, ankle mobility, calf and quad strength, hip control and how you land and squat, because knee pain is often driven from above or below the joint. Treatment combines remedial massage and cupping through the calves, hamstrings, quads and ITB, dry needling of trigger points, and red light therapy over irritated tendons and the plantar fascia.

Exercise therapy then rebuilds calf and quad strength, single-leg balance and landing control. For runners we also look at training load and footwear. Acute injuries with significant swelling, inability to bear weight or a feeling of the knee giving way should be assessed by a doctor first.

Knee and ankle pain FAQs

Can you help with heel pain in the morning?

Morning heel pain is typical of plantar fasciitis. Releasing the calf and plantar fascia, dry needling the calf, and a program of calf strengthening and footwear advice usually brings steady improvement over several weeks.

I have had an ACL reconstruction. Can you help with rehab?

We work alongside your surgeon's and physiotherapist's protocol, providing soft-tissue treatment for the surrounding muscles and supervised strength and balance training as you progress. Bring your post-operative guidelines to your first visit.
