Neck Pain Treatment Sydney CBD
Neck pain is the most common complaint we see from Sydney CBD office workers. We assess the neck, upper back and shoulders together, then combine remedial massage, dry needling, cupping and mobility work to relieve pain and address the posture and movement habits behind it.
How we treat neck pain
Your first appointment starts with an assessment of neck movement, upper back mobility, shoulder position and the muscles that refer pain into the head and arms. Treatment on the day usually combines remedial massage and myofascial release through the neck and upper back, dry needling of active trigger points, and sometimes cupping across the shoulders.
Relief on the day is only the first principle. We then work on the reasons the neck keeps tightening: thoracic stiffness, weak deep neck flexors, shoulder blade control and how your desk is set up. You leave with a short exercise program and a plan for follow-up.
Common patterns we see in the CBD
Office workers with one-sided headaches that start at the base of the skull, people who commute with a laptop bag on the same shoulder every day, and gym-goers whose neck tightens after overhead pressing or heavy carries. Each of these needs a different plan, which is why we assess before we treat.

Neck pain FAQs
Can massage help neck pain from sitting at a desk?
Usually, yes. Desk-related neck pain is commonly driven by tight upper trapezius, levator scapulae and suboccipital muscles with a stiff upper back. Remedial massage and dry needling relieve those, and we give you mobility exercises and desk set-up advice so it does not return.
When should I see a doctor instead?
See a doctor urgently if neck pain follows a significant trauma, or comes with fever, weakness or numbness in the arms or hands, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a severe sudden headache. We assess every client first and refer on when needed.
