Active Performance Clinic is about an 8-minute walk uphill from Darling Harbour, on Level 14 at 22 Market Street at the western edge of the Sydney CBD. Market Street runs straight up from the city end of Pyrmont Bridge, so there is little navigating to do.

Getting here from Darling Harbour

Head to the city side of Cockle Bay, where Pyrmont Bridge meets the shore. Market Street starts there and climbs gently east. Walk up Market Street, cross Sussex Street, and look for number 22 in the block around Kent Street. From Cockle Bay Wharf allow about 8 minutes; from ICC Sydney or Tumbalong Park add a few minutes for the walk around the bay.

From the Pyrmont side, near the Maritime Museum or the light rail, cross Pyrmont Bridge on foot and continue straight into Market Street. Take the lift to Level 14 and find Suite 1405.

Best times to book if you’re near Darling Harbour

Conference days at ICC Sydney run on a tight schedule, so the 7am opening is handy: book 7am and you can be back for a 9am session. Lunch is tight with an 8-minute walk each way, so a 45-minute follow-up needs a generous break; otherwise aim for the end of the day, when appointments run until 7pm.

For hotel guests at Darling Harbour, a late afternoon or early evening slot after sightseeing works well, with a walk back down to the waterfront for dinner. Runners and walkers who do the foreshore loop first thing can book straight after, from 7am. Saturday is by appointment; Sunday we are closed.

What people from Darling Harbour usually come in for

Complaints here are more varied than in the office blocks further east.

  • Travel stiffness. Long flights and unfamiliar beds leave the neck, upper back and hips tight. Remedial massage with some myofascial release and mobility work usually settles it. See neck pain and back pain.
  • Conference legs and shoulders. Three days standing at a stand or sitting through sessions produces sore feet, calves and lower backs, plus a bag strap digging into one shoulder. Cupping and dry needling suit the tight spots; see shoulder pain.
  • Training recovery. Foreshore runners and gym-goers use red light therapy and massage between sessions, with exercise therapy if something keeps recurring.

Dress for comfort. Treatment uses towel draping so you only uncover what is being worked on; if you are coming from a run, bring a dry top. First visits start with paperwork, so arrive about 10 minutes early with any scans or injury notes.
